Having a navy medallion centered by a ivory floral form on a red/orange ground. Floral and scrolling leaf design, with accent colors of light blue, brown and ivory. Provenance: Estate of Jack Faxon, Birmingham, MI. Michigan Senator and creator of the Michigan Council for the Arts.
patched repairs are skillfully done, loss of fringe at both ends, circa 1930s, areas of low pile, burlap non skid border on the reverse, coil stitching along the outermost border. Finely woven, spectacular and very attractive antique carpet with a mellow appearance.
